Last summer on the sea inspired me to create something new and different…

Whale in the sweater – Lopapeysa
Whales can be actually cold and newborn calves would not survive cold waters close to the North Pole.
So I put my first whale into knitted sweater with Icelandic pattern.
This knitted sweater is called Lopapeysa in icelandic 🙂
Whale in the swimsuit
Humpback whales have some of the longest migrations of any mammals and that is a lot of swimming between feeding and breeding areas. So I thought that some nice swimsuit would help with the shyness.

In the winter time can be very cold in the feeding areas so it’s always good to have some sort of protection. Some whales are wearing sweaters and some just prefer nice hat and a patterned scarf.

When the Humpback whale calf is born, first thing what Mom has to do is push the baby up to the surface to take a breath and then teach the newborn how to swim. Human babies are having some swimming aids and I just think that baby whales could use some of them too!
